In his youth, Elvis Presley was inspired by gospel music and by those who performed it, and this influence carried throughout his life. This was in stark contrast to the scandalous persona that the media assigned to him for much of his career. This work is a meditation on how subtle contrast and change can lead to altered perception, and seeks to juxtapose the image with the words and beliefs of The King himself.
